

At least that's what I think is happening. When connecting it to a computer now, the network connection is fluctuating on and off every 2-3 seconds and it never stays connected long enough for the computer to time out and assign an IP to the connection. Something went wrong and the device ended up in a vegetative state where I can't get it to connect to a computer anymore. Fine, so I did that but was met with a password screen and none of my passwords for the device worked, so I followed the instructions on the WD Support website to do a "4 second reset" to reset the network and password for the device. In the first response from them, they asked me to connect the drive directly to a computer and log in to retrieve the system log so they could verify that I had been a victim of the event. However, I have been in contact with WD Support to try to take advantage of their Data Recovery Offer.
